Deloitte joins forces with Legacy Advantage to grow services in Western Canada

Deloitte aims to build on Legacy Advantage’s strong brand and leadership to expand the ctrl by Deloitte practice in Western Canada

Toronto, December 11, 2018 – Deloitte is acquiring specialized cloud-based bookkeeping firm, Legacy Advantage Chartered Professional Accountants Ltd. to grow bookkeeping, accounting and advisory offerings in Western Canada. Formed in 2015 and joining the ctrl by Deloitte practice, Legacy Advantage focuses bookkeeping services on not-for-profit organizations and private companies of various sizes.

“We’re excited to have Legacy Advantage join the ctrl by Deloitte practice. This is going to have a significant impact not only on our presence in the space and in Western Canada, but in strengthening the capabilities offered to our Deloitte Private clients,” says Etienne Bruson, managing partner - Deloitte British Columbia. “This collaboration will provide users with the full scope of services by Deloitte, infused with Legacy’s brand and attention to empowering clients around their finances.”

By joining forces, Deloitte and Legacy Advantage clients will achieve a best-of-both-worlds balance. While Deloitte plans to build on Legacy Advantage’s brand and talent in Western Canada, clients will benefit from full access to Deloitte Private’s suite of services. In joining the ctrl by Deloitte practice, clients will retain the attention, simplicity, and peace of mind found with Legacy Advantage, along with discovering the added capabilities and insight of a global firm like Deloitte.

Winner of Intuit & K2E’s Top 10 Most Influential Bookkeeper in Canada award, Founder and CEO of Legacy Advantage, Bob Wang, will provide additional leadership and regional expertise as a senior advisor at Deloitte.

“We’re excited to be teaming up with Deloitte, as it opens up so many more possibilities for both of our businesses,” says Wang. “Teaming up with Deloitte resources, will strengthen our practices and allow us to grow larger and stronger in B.C.”

“This is a win-win for both Deloitte and Legacy Advantage, it’s a perfect match for both practices,” says Dan Doré, ctrl’s national leader. “Legacy is already an established leader in the space, and its impressive growth in Western Canada under Bob Wang’s leadership will continue to build on our ctrl services and significantly advance our expansion efforts across the country.”

The acquisition also sees over 20 experienced Legacy Advantage professionals join the firm under the ctrl by Deloitte practice.
