Deloitte is expanding its Consulting team in Atlantic Canada
The firm to acquire SwiftRadius
Saint John, December 18, 2014 – Deloitte announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire SwiftRadius, a leading IT consultancy in Atlantic Canada. The deal brings a team of IT professionals to Deloitte’s Consulting practice and establishes a new Deloitte office in Fredericton. The transaction is expected to close in January, subject to customary closing conditions.
“SwiftRadius is one of the most innovative and well-recognized IT and business consulting firms in this part of the country. The team’s client service approach and technical expertise are second to none, and we’re proud to be bringing them on board,” said Mathew Harris, Deloitte’s Managing Partner for the Atlantic region. “With this acquisition, we’re making a strategic investment in supporting the continued growth of businesses in Atlantic Canada.”
The transaction significantly enhances the firm’s Atlantic presence, opening the doors to a new Deloitte office in Fredericton while also adding IT professionals in Saint John, Moncton and Charlottetown. The Consulting practice will benefit from the team’s experience in helping health care, energy and public sector clients optimize their business processes over the last 10 years.
“We created SwiftRadius to help companies and government organizations transform their business processes through innovative uses of technology, and this transaction amplifies our ability to do that,” said company founder and CEO Scott MacIntosh. “With the combined strengths of our two teams and the assets of Deloitte behind us, we’ll be able to offer clients a remarkable level of service. It’s a case of one plus one equals three.”
The acquisition is expected to close in January, making it Deloitte’s first acquisition of 2015. In 2014, the firm acquired a safety and environmental consultancy in Alberta, a tax boutique in British Columbia, an e-discovery provider in Ontario and a crisis-management boutique in Alberta. Such transactions are supported by Deloitte’s Corporate Development Office. Under the leadership of Corporate Development Officer Alexandre Baril, Deloitte actively pursues and responds to merger, acquisition and alliance opportunities that align with the firm’s commitment to client service excellence.
