Darren Plested

Darren is consulting practice partner focused on the Future of Transportation and Mobility. 

Darren recently returned to Canada to join Deloitte after spending 18 years in Asia in both regional & global executive management positions. He has over 25 years of deep industry expertise across a number of industry sectors including Supply Chain, Logistics, Automotive and Corporate Venture Capital. 

Most recently, Darren lead a global Innovation team for the world’s largest Automotive OEM’s luxury car division. At the central core of this program, Darren ran an industry leading global start-up accelerator program focused on open innovation and fostering partnerships with industry leading disruptors and innovators looking to change the current landscape of mobility. He was also part of the Group’s US$1Billion Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) fund as a member of the investment advisory team that targeted investments in 5 key investment domains: Electronic Vehicles, Autonomous Drive, Connected Car, Enterprise Solutions & The Future of Mobility. Darren co-lead the “Future of Mobility” team. 

Prior to his years in the Automotive vertical, Darren spent 15 years in the Supply Chain & Logistics vertical as a Regional Vice President for the worlds largest logistics company. Based in Hong Kong and responsible for Asia, Darren lead a “Customer Solutions & Innovations” team that was laser focused on driving sector specific innovation and optimization into the supply chains of the firm’s top-tier multi-sector, multi-national clients both Inter-Asia and Internationally. Darren lead a number of industry vertical teams over his tenure including Retail, Technology, and Automotive but spent the majority of his time leading the Engineering & Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, and Aerospace sectors.  

Darren is a standing member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, was the Asian Ambassador for his British Columbia Institute of Technology Alumni Association and a proud member of Eco-Asia sustainability initiative.
