Miyo is the Managing Partner, Talent & Workplace at Deloitte Canada, and is based in Toronto. She is a member of the Canadian Executive and DTTL Board of Directors. She was formerly the Chief of Staff to the Managing Partner and Chief Executive of Deloitte Canada. Miyo also serves as the firm’s Chief Transformation Officer, helping clients deal with risks in major transformation initiatives.
Miyo originally joined Deloitte in 2010 when the firm acquired Anzen, a boutique consulting company she founded in 2003 that specialized in regulatory risk management, with clients in the healthcare, government, hospitality, automotive, and data brokerage sectors. From 2010 to 2013, she served as the Consumer Business leader for Toronto and was the national privacy practice leader in Risk Advisory.
From 2013 to 2015, Miyo served as the Global Chief Privacy Officer and Head of Social Media Compliance at TD Bank Group. TD is Canada’s second largest bank, and in the top ten banks in the United States by retail network. In her role at TD, Miyo led a team of legal and regulatory risk management professionals in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Asia-Pacific, helping the bank meet its legislative and regulatory obligations in privacy and social and digital media.
Miyo has a Ph.D. in Communications and Media Studies from McGill University.
