Rob Carruthers

Rob is Partner at Deloitte LLP based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Rob has over 24 years of experience in strategy, risk management and information technology. He currently leads Deloitte's Atlantic Risk Advisory Practice and is a member of the National Consumer, Energy, and Public Sector industry teams. Rob is a lead client partner on several major clients in Atlantic Canada with a heavy focus in Consumer and Energy. He also serves Public Sector in areas related to risk management and working with key Crown Corporations in retail.

As a leader of the Risk Advisory practice, Rob supports clients in areas such as Risk Management, Internal Control, Governance, Third Party Risk, Treasury, Cyber Security and Sustainability. He leads a team of specialists who provide advisory and assurance based services. Rob has significant experience working with Executives and their Board of Directors to address the most significant risks and opportunities facing their company.

Rob primarily focuses on publicly traded companies and large private companies, where he has a strong track record of delivering complex engagements.

Rob is an active public speaker and supporter of community fundraising initiatives. He is actively involved in many major fundraising events including Mental Health, Children's Wish, Cancer, and United Way.

He is a member of the Board as Vice Chair and past Chair of the Audit Committee for the Halifax Partnership, past President of the Maritime Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Board member and Chair of the Energy and Sustainability Committee for the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, and has recently been a member and the past Chair of the Acadia University Manning Business School Advisory Board.

Rob loves the ocean, including sailing and power boating. He is also an avid skier and a minor hockey coach.
