When did you win the scholarship and how has it benefited you?
Receiving the 2017 Deloitte Scholarship allowed me to comfortably pursue tertiary education at a high class institution without the added stress of funding. Additionally, the option of completing my Program’s Co-Op Work Terms at Deloitte was extremely beneficial as I would be able to apply classroom learning directly in the workplace. Deloitte has also made the best effort to make the Co-Op term as beneficial to my education as possible constantly challenging me to explore the depths of my knowledge via problem solving skills, task management and business/accounting knowledge.
What has the transition been like from intern to acting audit associate during your Co-op Internship?
The main difference I have noticed between Interning and becoming an Acting Audit Associate is the independence I have when performing tasks, assigning myself work and being able to map out an entire month based on tasks to be completed as composed to day-to-day assignments from Seniors as an Intern.

What does a typical day look like for you?
As we are currently in busy season for Audit, my day typically consists of preassigned tasks of which I can complete in my own order (usually deadline driven). Knowing what needs to be done, within what timeframe, allows me to improve my prioritization of tasks.
How do you find the work-life balance?
As this is the first employment period I have had during the Audit busy season, I have had to adjust in order to keep up with the demand of numerous deadlines and clients. It has allowed me to become more efficient with making the most out of my free time after work and during weekends. I have learned a lot from this experience and can honestly say I have found various ways to occupy my time outside of work. I can only imagine what I’ll be doing when I have more time later in the year.
