Steve is an audit partner with the Barbados office of Deloitte & Touche. He joined Deloitte in 1995 and has lived and worked in several countries on behalf of Deloitte, including Bermuda, New York and the United Kingdom. He is the Lead Partner for financial service audits, specialising in both US GAAP and IFRS and leads the Risk Advisory Practice.
He specialises in the audit of insurance and reinsurance entities, which covers both traditional life and property and casualty business, as well as non-traditional insurance business. Steve has also served as the LCSP on several banking clients in the CBC and while in the UK, he was seconded to the Bank of England, Financial Conduct Authority for a period of four months. He served as a Consultant Director for AIG UK, and was responsible for leading technical accounting projects under both US GAAP and IFRS for AIG entities in UK and Europe.
Steve is a practising member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) with a license to practice in the State of Georgia. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (FCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Eastern Caribbean. He is a former Audit Risk Leader and Learning Leader of the Barbados practice and is also a member of the Insurance Institute of Barbados.
