GirlForce100 is 100WF’s flagship mentoring program, focused on supporting female high school students through healthy relationships, career planning and self-care. The mentors provide their mentees with stability, guidance, support and the tools to develop skills and emerge as future leaders.

I am a mentor and committee member of GirlForce100 Cayman Islands. I started mentoring during the 2018/2019 school year and joined the committee during the 2019/2020 school year. I am paired with a 15-year-old student of a local high school. Through our weekly mentoring sessions, we have been able to build a trusting and positive relationship.
The GirlForce100 program’s main focus is to support the academic achievements and career aspirations of young women in our community. These young women are typically from underprivileged backgrounds or are currently living in social situations where they lack support and guidance from a parent or guardian.
I believe just having a consistent, positive presence in their lives can help give them the confidence and support they need to progress in school, and to reach their full potential.
GirlForce100 holds one on one mentoring sessions that have focused topics such as goal setting, positive self-image and career objectives. The program has established collaborations with community partners such as the YMCA, Red Cross and UCCI to achieve these goals. In addition to the one on one mentoring sessions, mentors would attend career clinics, workshops and group events with the mentees and other mentors. It has been a great opportunity for me to not only volunteer in the community, but to also meet many other professional like-minded women.
I am very proud to be a part of such an important and impactful program. I have personally found it to be very rewarding and satisfying, and believe you will as well!
