With schools closing to prevent the spread of COVID, students had to transition from interacting with their teachers and friends in person to attending classes online. This transition proved challenging for some students who did not have adequate resources, and many families were faced with the expense of buying devices.
Considering this our determined team set out to assist as many persons as possible. Several students throughout our communities from diverse backgrounds and age ranges were identified and laptops were duly donated. The team specifically reached out to the Grantley Prescod Memorial Primary School, a school in our caption area, and donated ten laptops to its students. Our Finance Manager, Darshani Workman and Senior IT Consultant, Reco Baptiste were present for the handover. Darshani shared that she was proud to be part of the team providing laptops to potential future leaders. She added that the laptops were necessary tools to keep children in school during trying times.
