Support is something Hayley Barker has found throughout her career at Deloitte, especially from her GES partner. Ambitious and straightforward is how she describes herself. So, it was natural that when Deloitte's Ride Across Britain popped up on her radar, she saw it as a great opportunity but still consulted with her partner. He made the point that she is better at what she does when she has balance between her work and personal life, so Hayley signed on. Support from her partner, colleagues, and clients—and her resilience—got Hayley across the finish line–and she will tell you—have kept her at Deloitte for years.
Straight out of secondary school, Dawn Turnbull started work. Today, she is an associate director in Deloitte's GES practice. She credits her career advancement to strong technical and people skills, a partner who supported her in gaining her professional credentials, going for what she wants, and giving her best. After seeing an ad for the Ride Across Britain on Deloitte's website, Dawn signed up. At no point did she think she couldn't do it. When her bike was damaged and she had to ride a loaner, months of training and pride in riding for Deloitte powered her to the finish.
From her first day on the job, Lucy Boyle was presented with challenges she was eager to take on. Deloitte's Ride Across Britain was one of them. Over nine months, Lucy put in 100+ mile training runs and did spin and yoga classes. No sleep the first night of the ride and a stomach virus, got her off to a rough start. Thanks to laughs shared with the other riders, her family, and her own perseverance, Lucy had a strong finish. "I love working at Deloitte, and riding to raise money and make an impact on people's lives," she concludes, "is one reason why I’m glad I joined the firm."
In 2012, Izzy joined Deloitte Digital in Australia and transferred to Deloitte Germany as a consultant on the Global Employer Services (GES) team in 2016. Developing technology, analytics, and innovation solutions and strategies is his sweet spot. He credits leaders who listened to him with landing him his dream job in Berlin. He's proud to be at Deloitte, so much so, that he runs a marathon every year wearing a Deloitte T-shirt.
A cross-cultural journey is how Sara Javadzadeh describes her career. She has studied in the US, interned at Deloitte Netherlands and is now a manager on Deloitte Belgium’s Global Mobility Compensation team. Training, team projects, conferences, and client meetings have Sara traveling across Deloitte's global network. She's now Global Lead Client Service Partner for one of the most forward-thinking and fastest-growing companies in social media. Her secrets to success? Knowing her client better than anyone at Deloitte and leaders who gave her the space to think outside the box and made it clear she was the future.
Lenka Mullerova joined Deloitte Czech Republic right out of university. Her goal was to "do what she loves," which is providing tax and immigration services for professionals working internationally, and that has taken her beyond the Czech Republic to Belgium, Australia, and the UK. For Lenka, a consulting career in Deloitte Global Employer Services is her dream job. With every move, she has learned more about tax, immigration, about the world, helped others, and made friends.

The first was to make partner where she was working or join Deloitte UK and help to build the Global Employer Services (GES) High Net Worth practice. The second crossroads was make partner at Deloitte UK or move to New York to launch a GES High Net Worth practice. She picked up her family, followed her passion, and made partner doing what she loves.
