Life at Deloitte
Kerstin was in the middle of her Master degree “Business Innovation (MBI)” at University of St. Gallen when she got to know people from Deloitte. Since 2015, she operates as a Consultant in our CIO Services (Chief Information Officers) team in Consulting.
Getting to know my future Deloitte colleagues during my studies was a memorable experience. I was very impressed by the international environment and diversity of the people I would get to work with on a daily basis. Since the very start at Deloitte, I work with highly intelligent and energetic colleagues who have an entrepreneurial mind-set. Every single one of them seems to be very successful in their careers, which is very motivating. Additionally, the Swiss subsidiary offers a variety of competencies you can learn, determined by your growth and success. This is a positive added value for the person’s future perspective.
Now that I’ve joined Deloitte full time, I can say that working in Management Consulting is challenging. The requested work is always cutting-edge and every project or industry we work in is very different.
For example, during my first project at Deloitte, I was helping a transformation project which involved revising current processes, roles and responsibilities within an organisation. Then, during my second project, I was part of a global transformation program in a major Swiss bank where I worked closely with the Senior Management team and it was my responsibility to ensure the transition of work between service lines worldwide.
The learning curve at Deloitte is very steep, due to the different fields I have worked in so far. The experience I have gained and will continue to benefit from, is extremely valuable for the growth of both my knowledge and my career.
