Deloitte China celebrates making 100 years of impact 

In September 2017, Deloitte China hosted a series of celebratory events to commemorate the firm's 100th anniversary. On 25 September, we celebrated this significant moment of our history at W Hotel in Shanghai, which marks the climax in the string of commemorative events.  In addition, there were also joint celebrations at offices in Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, where live broadcasts were featured for all colleagues to experience the National Partners Conference in Shanghai. 

Deloitte announces US$200 million strategic investment in China

Celebrating 100 years of impact in the China marketplace

On the occasion of its first centenary in China, Deloitte is pleased to announce a strategic investment program of US$200 million into talent development and capability upgrade. This program will be dedicated to enhancing its advisory services, advancing digital and technology transformation for the firm and Chinese enterprises, supporting the Belt & Road Initiative, as well as assisting Chinese enterprises in going global. This is a joint initiative of Deloitte Global and Deloitte China.

China is an important market for Deloitte and we are committed to serving the China marketplace with distinction. The strategic investment will help the China firm build an even stronger and more innovative multidisciplinary business model, which is a source of our competitive strength," said Punit Renjen, Deloitte Global CEO.

National Partners Conference hosted at W Hotel in Shanghai

On 25 Sep 2017, Deloitte hosted the annual National Partners Conference at W Hotel in Shanghai. This coincides with the 100 Year Cocktail Reception and Banquet, which took place in the evening.
Every year, Deloitte partners attend the conference in hopes of understanding more about the firm's strategic priorities and future roadmap.

This year, the focus was on innovation, with panel discussions centered on ways to make Deloitte China more innovative in the next century. The conference aimed at promoting a new round of discussions focusing on the future of society, innovation, technological trends, and the impact that digital transformation will bring to the Chinese and global economy. Guest speakers included Xu Jinming, Chairman of iFLYTEK Industrial Investment, Co-founder of iFLYTEK, Saeed Amidi, CEO of Plug & Play, Lidong Liu, Executive Vice President of China Resources University and Board General Manager of Shenzhen China Resources Technology Ventures Co. Ltd, Xu Bing, Co-founder & Vice President of SenseTime, with Kapil Kane, Director of Innovation, Intel China, Libo Wu, Associate Dean, School of Data Science, Fudan University, and David Yuan, Partner and Head of Redpoint China, as panel speakers.

As the keynote speaker, Hanmin Zhou, Standing Committee Member of CPPCC, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Committee of CPPCC, highlighted the importance of executing the Belt & Road Initiative on the basis of building a common prosperity with other countries for the future.

Nearly 1,000 partners and guests were in attendance.

Light show on display in celebration of firm's centenary

In celebration of the China firm's 100 year celebration, a light show display was held in Shanghai on the night, with the message 'Deloitte China 100th Anniversary ' shining across the Bund. The same message was displayed electronically on the LED wall of iconic buildings in New York, Beijing, Chongqing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

Against the glamorous backdrop, nearly 1,000 guests and Deloitte colleagues witnessed this significant event and shared in this historic moment of our firm. We hope that the display inspired a sense of pride in all Deloitte people, who will continue to make an impact that matters.
