Deloitte China announces new leadership in support of the Firm’s continuous success in the next century

Deloitte China (“the Firm”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Tsai to the position of the Firm’s Chairman, succeeding former Chairman and retired partner Clement Hung. Pauline Zhang is the Vice-Chairlady of Deloitte China.

A chartered accountant, Tsai has a strong reputation in the local accounting profession, serving as the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2011. He is also a renowned business figure with an extensive portfolio of public and community service appointments. Tsai has been a Board member of the China Firm since 2012 and has over 30 years of audit experience supporting local and multinational companies in a wide spectrum of industries.

I will join my fellow colleagues to extend the legacy we have established since 1917 and build an even stronger China Firm, which contributes substantively to the development of the broader Deloitte organization globally,” said Tsai.
Zhang has over 20 years of experience advising local and multinational companies on the most complicated tax, regulatory and business issues in China. Before joining Deloitte, Zhang was a senior official of Foreign Taxation Department and Tax Reform and Legislative Department of the State Administration of Taxation of China. She participated in the drafting of many major tax laws and regulations, including the Income Tax Law for Foreign Investment Enterprises and Foreign Enterprises (FEITL), and was also involved in China’s fiscal and tax reforms in 1994. Zhang has been widely recognized as a top tax advisor in China market.
