Congratulations! Deloitte China Partner Liang Yang appointed as an IPSASB member

The International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) recently announced that Liang Yang from China has been appointed and will be serving as an IPSASB member beginning 1 January 2022.  

The IPSASB is a global organization responsible for developing accounting standards for the public sector. The Board develops accrual-based accounting standards for use by governments and other public sector entities worldwide, and works to improve public sector financial reporting through the publication of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and other high-quality financial reporting guidance. The IPSASB has 18 members including representatives from ministries of finance, audit institutions, and academia around the world. 

In its announcement, the IPSASB stated that the appointment of new members from China and other countries would further increase the geographic diversity of the IPSASB to ensure that their outputs meet the needs of a diverse group of users.   

Liang Yang is a Deloitte China technical partner and the firm’s Financial Service Industry Professional Practice Director. She served as a member on the First Government Accounting Standards Board of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) in China,  and has been a member of the MoF’s First, Second and Third Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises Advisory Committees. With more than 20 years of professional experience in accounting, auditing and professional advisory, she has had a longstanding commitment to the study and practice of Chinese and international accounting standards. Her appointment to the IPSASB will help drive the development of accounting standards and the accounting profession by leveraging her experience and insights.
