Life at Deloitte

An Open and Honest Point of View about Deloitte Mobility

Roger Liu
Tax & Legal | China to Malaysia (Long Term Assignment)

I started my career at Deloitte Tax in Beijing in October 2011. I have been fortunately involved in the Global Mobility Program and seconded to Kuala Lumpur Office in recent years.

During this period, my learning capacity and work skills has been improved a lot. Besides strengthening of the communication and development of business opportunity, in order to provide best services to client and create value while settling their issues, I have not only helped them on China tax issues but also tried to seize every opportunity to learn Malaysia tax and investment knowledge to provide more comprehensive, timely and efficient support. To achieve this, I have to remain concentrated to some extent while absorb various new knowledge, meanwhile, I need to swiftly transfer the knowledge and skills to practice, and satisfy client's multiple needs by virtue of team work and resources leverage.

This unique year also brought me an enlarged insight and enhanced experience. During this year, I have been to most cities in Malaysia with my colleagues, got connected with a large number of Deloitte Malaysia colleagues in different departments, Chinese clients and friends from various areas, and held a series of business activities. Overseas working experience enhanced my cross culture mindset and capacity to think in a different way, which helps me to better understand my job and career development in a new angle.

Needless to say, this experience is a milestone for my career, in the future, I hope that I can still take advantage of my experience and make constant contributions, also I sincerely look forward to see more colleagues to involve in the Global Mobility Program to explore their own unexpected experience.
