Deloitte Partner Jens Ewert receives 2021 Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award
On 15 September, Deloitte China Partner Jens Ewert was honoured in receiving from Shanghai Government the 2021 Magnolia Silver Award.
Jens Ewert is Deloitte China's MNC Sector Leader and Life Sciences and Healthcare Industry Leader. He has over 30 years of experience in the area of professional services, with almost 20 years based in Shanghai. He actively engages in supporting the city’s economic development, and has led teams to serve more than 100 well-known MNCs including Fortune Global 500 companies, in their investments, M&As and restructurings in China, making exceptional contributions to help Shanghai attract foreign investments.
Jens also takes an active role in fulfilling social responsibilities through his social connections. He deeply cares about the development of education in Shanghai, when serving as Chairman for almost 10 years of the Board of Trustees of the French School of Shanghai, and was instrumental for the establishment of the second joint French–German School Campus in Shanghai. Through his role as active member of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China, he energetically promotes Shanghai’s excellent business environment at multiple platforms such as the Boao Forum for Asia. Moreover, he has also published numerous articles on China’s life sciences and health care industry through domestic and overseas media.
After the outbreak of COVID-19, Jens decided to stay in China and led his team to help MNCs in China resume work and stabilize production and operation via remote services.

The Magnolia Award, established by Shanghai Municipal Government in 1989, aims to recognize foreign individuals for their outstanding contributions to the city's economic construction, social development, and international exchanges and cooperation.
