Career Site Privacy Statement

Deloitte Canada (also referred to below as “Deloitte”, “we”, “us”, “our”, or “the firm”) is a privacy conscious organization, committed to protecting the privacy of our people and those who seek employment with us (“Candidate(s)”). It is important to us that you understand what information we collect, how we use it and how we protect it.

SuccessFactors (the “System”) is the Talent (human resources) system of record for all aspects of a Candidate’s applications and recruitment lifecycle with the firm. This statement refers specifically to your use of SuccessFactors. Other areas within Deloitte may have their own separate privacy statements.

By using SuccessFactors you are agreeing to the use of your information as described in this Privacy Statement.

What we collect

Deloitte collects personal information that you as Candidate, or a third party on your behalf, submit through SuccessFactors. The personal information collected through SuccessFactors will vary based on your application or employment status with the firm. For example, at the initial application stage, personal information will be limited to that which you or a third party on your behalf, enter directly in the System when applying for a job. This can include items such as your name, contact information, employment and education history. As you move through the recruitment process more information may be collected in the System.

As a Candidate you retain control over any data that you have entered into the System. However, Candidates may not be able to edit information gathered in previous job applications prior to the implementation of the System.

How we use your information

SuccessFactors serves as the Candidate tracking system for external and internal candidates. If you are a successful candidate, your external profile will be converted to an internal profile upon joining the firm.

Data in the System will be used exclusively by Deloitte and any third party agencies contracted to assist with recruitment activities. Information entered into SuccessFactors will be stored and processed on their servers in Ashburn, Virginia, in the United States.

Unless otherwise requested, Candidate information will not be used for marketing, soliciting business, non-recruiting, or non-employment related activities.

In order to comply with legal or regulatory obligations or requests, personal information may be disclosed to law enforcement, regulatory, or other government agencies, or to other third parties.

Can I withdraw my information?

Yes. As a Candidate you can delete your profile in part or in full by emailing careerstechsupport@deloitte.ca. Should you wish to delete your application for a specific positing you can do so via your candidate profile or by emailing careerstechsupport@deloitte.ca

By deleting your profile, you will no longer be under consideration for any postings to which you’ve applied, and must create a new candidate profile in order to be able to apply for opportunities with Deloitte.

How we protect your information

The protection of your personal information is important to us. Therefore, we have taken steps through technical and contractual means to ensure that your personal information stored in SuccessFactors or used by third parties for recruitment purposes will be safeguarded accordingly. We have also implemented “role-based” permissions to ensure that your personal information is viewed only by those who have a specific need to view it.

Deloitte’s records retention guidelines for Talent dictate that recruitment records must be kept for 8 years from the last date of activity in the system. Data for unsuccessful candidates or incomplete profiles will be held according to these terms.

We may modify or amend this Privacy Statement from time to time at our discretion. When we make changes to this statement, we will amend the revision date at the top of this page, and such modified or amended Privacy Statement shall be effective as to you and your information as of that revision date.
