First wave of startups graduate from IDEA

Accelerating entrepreneurship, innovation and growth

The IDEA Programme was established a little over year ago with the aim of assisting aspiring entrepreneurs to convert their ideas into business ventures. The Programme is essentially an idea-stage accelerator and startup launch program, where teams of entrepreneurs learn how to build their business and accelerate their growth.

The pioneering programme was developed by the Bank of Cyprus and the Cyprus International Institute of Management in partnership with Deloitte, MTN, Innovation / Leo Burnett and Lellos P. Demetriades Law Office LLC. IDEA provides a space and framework of support and works together with the aspiring entrepreneurs to develop and grow their startups.

A total of nine startups joined IDEA in October 2015. Having successfully completed their residency, four of those teams were congratulated in a graduation ceremony on the 8th of February 2017. During the graduation ceremony, which took place at the Bank of Cyprus’ Cultural Foundation, each startup gave a 3-minute pitch in front of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, business leaders and academics, as well as the cofounders’ and strategic partners’ teams that have been working with them during their 12-month residency in IDEA.

Deloitte’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre team, in cooperation with all of Deloitte’s service lines, supported Bandster, Prediti, Materics and icheers intensively. We are proud of the teams and their achievements and look forward to witnessing their future conquests.
