Our purpose

Making an impact that matters

Deloitte is led by a purpose: to make an impact that matters. This purpose defines who we are. It endures—transcending the everyday and binding us together. It gives us our reasons to exist.

At Deloitte we're motivated by a purpose that transcends profits: to make an impact that matters in our communities. A vibrant and stimulating workplace culture is key to achieving this. Our diversity and inclusion commitment aims to ensure our people feel valued and it is underpinned by our belief in the importance of wellbeing. These foundations inspire us to take action to improve lives, and drive reform towards a more prosperous and sustainable society. WorldClass is our global initiative to address inequality and help empower 100 million people by 2030. WorldClimate is our global commitment to mitigating the impacts of climate change. Read more below about how we are activating some of these initiatives.

Diversity and inclusion

Deloitte views diversity and inclusion as central to our execution of strategy. Through our extensive research, we know that at the intersection of diversity and inclusion lies an area rich with fresh, innovative ideas and creativity – driving better employee experiences and client outcomes.

Our “ALL IN: Accelerating gender and inclusion” strategy is designed to deliver exceptional experiences, and outlines Deloitte’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to accelerating representation of women in leadership roles.

Because there are differences between individuals, cultures, and generations in the working environment, respecting, embracing and drawing strength from these differences allows us to create the best possible outcomes for our clients, our people and society.

WorldClass

We have a goal of impacting one hundred million futures by 2030.

Globally, millions of people are being left behind, unable to fulfil their aspirations and potential in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. At Deloitte, we believe that we make the greatest societal impact when our professionals use their skills and expertise to help people to develop job skills, improve educational outcomes, and access opportunities to succeed in this new economy. Deloitte’s global WorldClass ambition is to support 100 million people by 2030. By aligning around a common goal and mission, we are focusing our resources and efforts to make a meaningful impact on a shared challenge worldwide.

WorldClimate

WorldClimate is our commitment to mitigating the impacts of climate change. Immediate action is required to create solutions that facilitate the transition to a low carbon economy. WorldClimate is our strategy to drive responsible climate choices within our organisation and beyond towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2030.

It is a monumental task. Yet, we know progress is possible if we act collectively. It is vital that we all (business and society) take urgent and immediate action.

To do our part to help the world achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, Deloitte has launched WorldClimate, our strategy to drive responsible climate choices within our organisation and beyond.

We recognise change starts within. Deloitte must set and meet higher standards for itself, including achieving net-zero emissions by 2030. We will also connect with others, empowering our professionals and engaging our broader ecosystem to create solutions that facilitate the transition to a low carbon economy. This will require reimagining, reinventing and redesigning many of the day-to-day experiences of our lives, as well as how businesses and economies operate.

The opportunity to create a more sustainable world is at our collective fingertips. We all are compelled to act.
