I applied for the Deloitte Scholarship because Deloitte is well known for its inclusive and supportive culture, as well as its well-structured training programmes, and I believe that it will be a great place for both my professional and personal growth.
My summer internship in audit was challenging yet fulfilling, as I was assigned to work on engagements from different industries. It was intriguing to see how things came together through applying the concepts learnt in school to the tasks on hand. Also, my technical knowledge has widened under the guidance of my nurturing seniors.
I like how Deloitte advocates work-life balance for its people by organising events such as the Audit Off-Peak Party, Eatz@Deloitte, Inter-departmental games, monthly mentor outings and Mentor Appreciation Day.
Another perk of being a Deloitte scholar is that we are each paired with a Mentor Partner, allowing us to tap on the vast and invaluable experiences of the Partners. Despite his hectic schedule, my Mentor will keep in touch with me to ensure that everything on my end is going smoothly, and I can reach out to him just like a friend.

I am incredibly grateful to have won the Intern Impact Award as it signifies how much Deloitte values and recognises its employees who go the extra mile. The friends I formed during this internship will last a lifetime, and that is what I value most. Although the learning curve can be rather steep at times, I am so grateful to have excellent coworkers, managers, and buddies who I can turn to when I run into difficulties. When I need help, they are always so patient to teach and mentor me. I have no doubt that the upcoming group of interns will benefit and enjoy their time greatly at Deloitte!
