Last update of excise taxes on beer, whether imported or domestically produced

Through Administrative Resolution 22-2016, published in the Official Gazette No. 174 on September 9th 2016, IFAM informed the latest update of excise taxes, applied to beer, whether imported or domestically produced, according to the Article 10 of the Act no. 5792.

This update is performed on a quarterly basis, according to the consumer price index, between the months of April and June 2016, which reflected results in a variation of 1.106%, generating changes detailed below:

Excise tax (CRC per milliliter of absolute alcohol)
Beer ¢0,24893


This new decree repealed the Administrative Resolution (June 21st, 2016) and is into force from October 1st, 2016.
