Implementation of Decisions N° 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Free Trade Comission – Free Trade Agreement between Costa Rica and Colombia

Through Decrees N° 40483-COMEX, N° 40484-COMEX, N° 40485-COMEX y N° 40488-COMEX published in the Gazette No. 133 of July 13th 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Trade enacted Decisions N° 1, 2, 3 and 4 issued by the Free Trade Commission of the Free Trade Agreement between Costa Rica and Colombia. These Decisions are related to the following provisions:

  • Decree N° 40483-COMEX - Decision N° 1
    Procedures related to the Free Trade Comission. 
  • Decree N° 40484-COMEX - Decision N° 2
    Modification to the format of the Certificate of Origin established in Annex 3-B and its Annex of the FTA.
  • Decree N° 40485-COMEX - Decision N° 3
    Mutual recognition of documents signed electronically in the interoperability process.
  • Decree N° 40488-COMEX - Decision N° 4
    Modification of specific rules of origin related to clothing, established in Annex 3-A and its annex of the FTA.

The Decisions will come into effect 30 days after the last communication of the Parties informing the compliance of the internal legal requirements.
