Giorgos Konstantinou is a Senior Manager in the Regulatory Risk team at Deloitte Risk Advisory Department, specializing in Regulatory Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) matters. He is also the AMLCO of Deloitte Investment Services (DIS) Ltd, a Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) licensed and regulated entity that offers investment services. He has more than 12 years of experience in the financial services sector, specifically on regulatory risk advisory, customer due diligence (CDD), compliance and international and investment banking.
He holds a BA in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM). He is also CySEC approved, with the advanced-level certificate. He joined Deloitte in 2019, after a three years tenure with another leading professional services firm. The previous role required very strong knowledge of procedures on CDD, risk and compliance issues, as well as money laundering (ML) policies. He served as main point of contact for the regulatory authorities, successfully organizing, supervizing and coordinating the monitoring visits, while at the same time coordinating the regulatory reporting requirements.
Previously, he had a six years tenure with Barclays Bank Plc where he was heavily involved in managing relationships of corporate service providers and international corporate clients from CIS and Russia, Middle East and Asia. He has a long track record on servicing clients, managing relationships, increasing sales, improving client retention and growing client base. Throughout his employment he developed significant knowledge of the risk management, regulatory requirements and credit risks at a practical level.
