Fast 50: Czechs unrivalled in the fifty fastest-growing tech companies in Central Europe this year

Prague, 19 November 2020 – The ranking of the fifty fastest-growing tech companies in Central Europe is dominated by the Czech firms. A symbolic number of 21 Czech tech leaders made it to the twenty-first annual Deloitte Technology Fast 50 CE. The logistics start-up DoDo came second, UlovDomov.cz, an application for real estate rentals, third and fourth place belongs to the FAVI home decoration and furniture search engine. The winner of the ranking is Packhelp S.A., a Polish customised packaging manufacturer.

In the exceptional circumstances of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the organisers have published the results via a special broadcast on the Seznam Zprávy portal. Deloitte’s Fast 50 partners this year are Citibank, INVENTI, ABRA Software, Mews and also StartupJobs.cz, South Moravia innovation centre JIC and CzechInvest.

Deloitte Technology Fast 50 CE compares the growth of the enrolled technological companies in the last four years, this year, therefore, in the period from 2016 to 2019. The sales of DoDo grew by 8,427%, UlovDomov.cz 5,535% and FAVI 3,389%. The second ten of the Fast 50 ranking includes another three Czech companies – online loan provider Zonky (12th place, 1,347%), original gift shop Manboxeo.cz (15th place, 1,279%) and cloud experts Stratox Enterprises s.r.o. (18th place, 1,099%). 

The winner of the Rising Stars category, which concerns companies that could not get in the main competition due to their short time on the market, is the last year’s number one fintech FTMO (FF Trader s.r.o.) and second place goes to the cyber-security company GreyCortex s.r.o. There are a total of ten Czech companies in this category.

Czech 50 Finally Complete 

The total of 108 Czech companies enrolled in the Central European section and 66 of them were awarded in different categories. It was thus possible to put together a complete 50 of solely Czech tech stars. In addition, Deloitte has named five Czech companies in the Tech Leaders category and three in the Impact Stars category for companies with a unique and innovative product or a ground-breaking service.

“The results of this year´s Fast 50 confirm that tech companies in the Czech Republic continue to thrive. The local entrepreneurs do not just settle for the local or regional market. Many of them are already becoming successful abroad, including the demanding U.S. market, “ said Jiří Sauer, director of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 CE programme.

“The high growth of awarded companies proves that technology plays and will continue to play a key role in business expansion, which has been proven by the current pandemic situation, “ added Kateřina Novotná, Deloitte tech company specialist.

Companies from nine different countries have made it to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 CE ranking this year. Their average growth rate reached a record of 1,460% from 2016 to 2019.
