Deloitte Fast 500 EMEA: Two Czech companies in Top 5 – bronze for Prusa Research and 5th place for Kiwi.com

Prague, 24 September 2019 Two companies from the Czech Republic were successful in the competition of 500 fastest growing tech companies of the EMEA region (Europe, Africa and the Middle East). 3D printer manufacturer Prusa Research came third and flight search engine Kiwi.com fifth. The winner is the Swedish media company Strossle International AB.

The Deloitte 2018 Technology Fast 500 EMEA ranking includes a total of seven Czech companies. The competition compares the growth in sales in the last four years, i.e. 2014 to 2017. Based on the Fast 500 methodology, Prusa Research (first in Central European Fast 50) achieved growth of 17,122%, Kiwi.com of 14,380% (second in CE). The winner from Sweden triumphed with 19,900%.

“Now all there is left is world domination, which we have long been talking about. But seriously, 3D printing still has a long way to go, so we will keep trying to make it more efficient and accessible for the general public. We now have over 60 colleagues in the development team, so hopefully they will figure something out. And some further growth could be a side effect of that,” says Josef Průša, founder of Prusa Research.

The remaining five Czech companies that succeeded in the EMEA region are Pilulka distribuce (59th place, 1,682%), Proficio Marketing (84th place, 1,229%), ZOOT (185th place, 513%), Creative Dock (406th place, 186%) and IDEA StatiCa/IDEA RS (424th place, 178%).

“The results of the EMEA region clearly highlight the breakneck speed at which the 3D printer manufacturer Prusa Research is growing. Growth exceeding 17,000 percent is phenomenal and Prusa Research has become the fastest growing Czech company that has ever appeared in the ranking in its entire history. The Czech success is supported by the fifth place of Kiwi.com, whose growth had more than doubled,” says Jiří Sauer, partner and leader of Deloitte Technology Fast 50 CE in the Czech Republic.

The highest number of representatives in the ranking of the fastest growing companies in Europe, Africa and the Middle East came from the United Kingdom (118), the Netherlands placed second (82) and the third most successful country was Sweden (49). Central Europe is dominated by Poland (17).

This year’s list of successful companies includes firms from a total of 18 countries. The average growth rate of these companies in 2018 was 969% (1,377% in 2017).

The criteria for including a company in the Fast 500 EMEA and Fast 50 CE rankings can differ in certain respects, for example the minimum sales requirement. In addition, a slightly modified formula is used to calculate growth.
