Prof. Dr. Bernhard Lorentz is a Managing Partner and the Global Consulting Sustainability & Climate Strategy Leader. In his role, Bernhard supports major companies globally in their “Great Transformation” towards a decarbonized future and he is defining new pathways to accelerate this transformation for entire industries. Bernhard has dedicated his career to two major goals: decarbonization of industries and improvement of the quality of public service.
He is the founding chair of the Deloitte Center for Sustainable Progress (DCSP). Deloitte’s Sustainability & Climate practice aims to accelerate the transformation at scale with DCSP, which serves as a convener of specialists, industry influencers, and thought leaders from around the world. DCSP focuses on holistic, data-driven analysis and results-oriented thought leadership to guide organizations through their sustainability journeys.
Bernhard has founded leading European think tanks including the Hertie School of Governance, the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS), Agora Energiewende, Mercator Institute for Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC), and the Climate Neutrality Foundation. He is an Honorary Professor at the Free University of Berlin.
