BUJ Workshop Roadshow "Law & Digitalization"
Series of workshops at 6 locations
German language Workshop Roadshow hosted by the Federal Association of in-house lawyers (BUJ) in cooperation with Deloitte Legal | March to May 2019
The change of processes and workflows due to the use of digital technologies (in short "digitalization") brings along ever more legal implications. The more digital technologies are implemented in a company, the more diverse, extensive and complex become the requirements that are placed on the legal department in this context. The occasions at which the legal department’s support is required range from the introduction of a new ERP system or the implementation of Big Data applications to project management tools - and this includes only a few examples from the daily reality of the legal department.
A particular challenge for the legal departments is to take into account the interdependencies between technical, organisational and business requirements at the one hand and legal requirements at the other.
In order to perform their tasks efficiently and in a way that conserves resources, while at the same time ensuring legal compliance, legal departments must increasingly adopt a proactive approach when planning and implementing digitalization projects.
Based on the above considerations, the Federal Association of in-house lawyers (Bund der Unternehmensjuristen, BUJ), together with Deloitte Legal, has developed a workshop agenda tailored to the needs of the legal departments. On the basis of constellations typically faced by legal departments, we want to discuss current challenges and pragmatic solutions.
