Deloitte advises Kasai Kogyo on acquisition of plant in Wolfsburg for interior parts from Roechling Automotive

A multidisciplinary international Deloitte team has advised the Japanese company Kasai Kogyo Co., Ltd. on the acquisition of a manufacturing plant in Wolfsburg-Hattorf for interior automotive parts from Roechling Automotive Germany SE & Co. KG. The transaction was closed at the beginning of June.

Kasai Kogyo Co., Ltd. is a global automotive supplier and component manufacturer which continues its global growth strategy via this acquisition in Europe through its newly established Kasai (Germany) GmbH. Kasai Kogyo Co., Ltd. is a Japanese company, founded in 1946, and employs more than 8,800 people worldwide. Operating as a publicly listed company on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Kasai is an established partner of the automotive industry and stands for quality and partnership.

Kasai took over the entire business operations and all employees, i.e. the plant in Wolfsburg-Hattorf is to be continued unchanged by Kasai (Germany) GmbH.

For Roechling Automotive, the sale of the plant is a consequence of its focus on other core businesses. Both partners want to secure the continuity and quality of the Hattorf plant through this transaction.

With joint teams of Japanese and German Deloitte Corporate Finance Advisory, Deloitte Legal and Financial and Carve-out experts, Deloitte advised Kasai Kogyo Co., Ltd. through all phases of the carve-out transaction, until its successful completion.
