Deloitte recognized as a Leader by Gartner in Public Cloud Infrastructure Professional and Managed Services, Worldwide
NEW YORK, NY, USA, 15 March 2019—Gartner, the world’s leading information technology and advisory company, recognized Deloitte as a Leader, based on completeness of vision and ability to execute in its February 2019 report titled, Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure Managed and Professional Services Worldwide.
“Deloitte believes that the cloud is driving a fundamental shift in the market—it represents the way technology products and services will be increasingly built and delivered, leveraging product based teams, agile methodologies, micro services architectures, native services, containers, devops, and extreme automation,” says Ranjit Bawa, Deloitte US Consulting Cloud Leader. “To Deloitte, this accolade speaks to our continued commitment to help clients seize their most important opportunities and address their challenges through a high impact approach focused on end to end transformation.”
Gartner defines public cloud infrastructure (IaaS) managed and professional services as delivering “compute, storage and network resources in a self-service, highly automated fashion. The leading public cloud IaaS providers also offer platform as a service (PaaS) capabilities and other cloud software infrastructure services as part of an integrated IaaS+PaaS offering. However, such services do not eliminate the need for IT operations management (ITOM).”
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant evaluates 19 of the public cloud infrastructure managed and professional services providers. According to the report, Leaders are defined as those who “have a track record of successful delivery of high-quality professional and managed services that thoughtfully exploit the capabilities of the cloud platform. They are well-positioned to continue delivering leading-edge services in the future.”
The report also notes, “Hyperscale cloud integrated IaaS+PaaS providers offer a wide array of self-service capabilities, but leveraging these capabilities in an optimal fashion requires expertise—more expertise than most organizations possess. Even when a business can maintain the necessary expertise, demand for those internal experts often exceeds what can be fulfilled by the organization’s employees.”
