  Dive into the realm of computer science!! This workshop is tailored for individuals who don’t have a tech background and will have the chance to learn the fundamental concepts of programming, programming languages, and basic code-writing commands.

  Did you know? Tech roles are the most in-demand globally, and anyone can thrive in this field, regardless of their background! Join WE LEAD, a nonprofit committed to bridging the gender gap in tech and empowering women in the field, for an exciting web development workshop led by Code.Hub’s experienced instructors, Efthymia Amarantidou, Software Engineer, and Dr. Odysseas Efremidis, Tech Director. This session is designed for everyone, from aspiring tech professionals to anyone keen on gaining a better understanding of the mysteries of web development.

• Girls in Tech Greece, a global Non-Profit Organization headquartered in San Francisco, California with a strong presence in Greece, is dedicated to eliminating the gender gap in the tech industry. In Greece, it organizes impactful events such as webinars, open days, and the "Get Inspired" series, empowering women and providing them with opportunities to expand their network and enhance their skills.
• WELEAD, founded by Libra Philanthropies in 2023, is dedicated to propelling women, both cisgender and transgender, into leadership positions in Greece’s thriving technology sector and beyond. Offering essential skills development, mentorship, job opportunities, and networking, WE LEAD aims to create equal opportunities for women to shape the future of technology and business in Greece and globally.

Closing the Gender Gap in Tech

Τhe gender gap in the tech sector persists, highlighting the underrepresentation of women in employment, leadership roles, pay equity, and access to opportunities. According to Deloitte’s Women @ Work 2023 report, while progress has been made, much remains to be done.

A study conducted by Deloitte in cooperation with the Federation of the Hellenic Information Technology & Communications Enterprises (SEPE) in December 2022 highlighted a projected need for 120,000 – 140,000 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) professionals by 2030 in the Greek labour market. Bridging this gap requires equal access to STEM education for girls and boys, women, and men, yet according to the Deloitte EU STEM Observatory study only 20% of ICT graduates in EU countries are female.
