Cybersecurity in the New Digital Era

Deloitte supports the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), the country's leading business federation and its Digital Transformation Observatory, which functions as a permanent monitoring mechanism for promoting the Digital Transformation of Greece.

Towards this end, Deloitte collaborated with SEV for the preparation of the “Cybersecurity in the New Digital Era” report, which highlights the Cybersecurity risks generated from the rapid adoption of new digital technologies and suggests effective methods of tackling these emerging risks. Cyber Threats that industrial businesses and “Smart Factories” face in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, are a topic of particular focus.

The report outlines the trends that shape the current Cybersecurity Landscape, emphasizing the need for comprehensive and holistic cybersecurity measures. It also observes that the vast majority of industrial sector lack the necessary threat prevention, detection and response mechanisms, despite the significant investments in technological advances towards digitizing their business processes.

Looking at lessons learned from real life cyber security incidents, the report points out the paramount importance of developing a long term Cybersecurity Strategy, customized to each organization’s needs. Looking into the future, key components of a Cybersecurity Roadmap are presented, which could lead an organization towards a more mature Cybersecurity environment.
