Capital Markets Day in Zagreb

On 9 July, more than 150 managers and shareholders of leading companies from Croatia and neighboring countries participated at the Capital Markets Day in Zagreb, jointly organized by Deloitte and the London Stock Exchange. The conference also marked the first visit of the London Stock Exchange Group to Croatia.

Vedrana Jelušić, Deloitte Partner and Private Initiative Leader, delivered an introductory speech focusing on the need to deepen and further integrate the capital markets. Vedrana also emphasized the importance of high corporate governance standards which constitute prerequisites for promoting transparency and integrity, and are, at the same time, crucial for attracting investments.

Mario Antonić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Ante Žigman, President of HANFA and Andrew Dalgleish, UK Ambassador, participated in the conference and shared their endorsement for the development of the capital markets and cross-border investments.

Axel Kalinowski, Head of Central and Southern Europe spoke about the prospects of listing at the London Stock Exchange and mentioned some recent successful IPOs.

Blaž Brodnjak, President of NLB, shared his experience concerning the recent listing of NLB shares at the London Stock Exchange and Ljubljana Stock Exchange.

Ivana Gažić, the CEO of the Zagreb Stock Exchange, presented the Progress market of the Zagreb Stock Exchange, a special trading platform for small and medium enterprises.

Vladimir Bosiljevac (Adria Capitala & Harvard University), Petar Vlaić (Erste Plavi), Axel Kalinowski (London Stock Exchange), Ivana Gažić (Zagreb Stock Exchange) and Vedrana Jelušić (Deloitte) participated in the panel discussions on the investment opportunities and funding strategies encompassing capital markets, as well as private investments.

Nikola Dujmović, the CEO of SPAN and one of the graduates of ELITE Program, shared his experience and benefits of participating in the ELITE Program, London Stock Exchange Group's international business support and capital raising programme for ambitious and fast-growing companies.
