Deloitte Hungary's new leader
Budapest, 21 April 2017
András Fülöp will serve as Deloitte Hungary's Chairman and CEO after 1 June 2017. He will replace Gábor Gion who has led the Hungarian practice for over 8 years. The organisation grew consistently under his leadership as the initial headcount of 300 nearly doubled by 2017.
András Fülöp has been working at Deloitte for 23 years now. He has led the advisory service line since 2014 and has been the leader of the Central European Financial Services Group since 2015. He will continue to fulfil the latter role along with his responsibilities as the new Chairman and CEO.
"The key challenge we face is to launch a number of new and even surprising products and services in the Hungarian market to complement the traditional Big4 service areas. Also, solutions which prove to be successful in Hungary will need to be introduced at the international level as soon as possible. Just to name a few: Deloitte is the world's second largest digital agency; we have several hundred experts working on developing blockchain solutions; Deloitte Legal is one of the largest law firms in Central Europe, and one of the most successful and fastest growing EMEA-level IT security advisory centres is located in Budapest. We need to introduce these services to the Hungarian market as well" – said András Fülöp.
In the future, Gábor Gion will focus on developing Deloitte Hungary's government relations and will continue to manage Deloitte's service line focusing on Chinese companies in his capacity as the leader of the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East and Africa).
After 1 June 2017, Deloitte Hungary's advisory service line will be led by Balázs Mérth.
