Deloitte Awarded Engineers Ireland CPD Accreditation
13 May 2013 - The prestigious CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Accredited Employer standard has been awarded to Deloitte Ireland, it has been announced. It follows an audit by Engineers Ireland of the lifelong learning practices developed by Deloitte for its engineering professionals.
Speaking on the achievement, John Power Director General said:
“Great credit should go to Deloitte Ireland, a company not traditionally known as an employer of engineers, for its well-merited CPD accreditation. By investing in its engineers, Deloitte is fostering skills development that can lead to new commercial ideas, fresh ways of thinking and ultimately new pipelines of business.Traditional perceptions of engineering, images of hard-hats, the building of bridges, and so on, are still based on important strands of the engineering industry. But engineering is changing and is now more diverse than ever. The fact that Deloitte has such an impressive CPD framework geared towards engineers is a great example of this and is another indicator of the transferrable skills an engineering qualification can offer.”
“We are delighted that this Engineers Ireland award duly recognises Deloitte as an employer of excellence with regard to Continuing Professional Development. CPD ensures focused, insightful and fresh thinking that can help our clients succeed. We are wholly committed to professional pathways for all Deloitte business advisers, including our engineering professionals.”
said David Hearn, Head of Consulting, Deloitte Ireland.
