Ireland’s leading authority on Irish Income Tax now written by Deloitte Tax Partner Tom Maguire
Bloomsbury Professional has selected one of Ireland’s foremost tax commentators and Deloitte tax partner, Tom Maguire, as the author of the latest edition of Irish Income Tax, which is now available. The publication is recognised as the most authoritative commentary on income tax in this country and is used regularly by tax advisers, accountants, lawyers, judges and others in the tax profession.
Tom leads Deloitte’s Tax Policy and Technical Services team, which supports Deloitte’s tax partners and hundreds of tax professionals in providing tax advice to leading Irish and multinational companies, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals. The team regularly contributes to the tax policy debate in Ireland through commentary in leading journals. In addition, as Tax Policy Partner, Tom also leads Deloitte’s efforts to provide insightful submissions to government on important and complex tax policy questions, such as the Knowledge Development Box (KDB) in Ireland and the tax treatment of share-based remuneration, amongst others.
Michael Ashe SC, QC noted: “I am delighted with Bloomsbury’s choice of Tom as the author of Irish Income Tax given the success of his previous works. This is a critical textbook in shaping the tax profession’s understanding of tax legislation in Ireland and Tom’s work will have a significant impact, as the former authors have done, on the work of current tax practitioners and on the education of the next generation.”
Tom is also the editor of the leading legislative title Direct Tax Acts. He is the sole author of Ireland’s General Anti-Avoidance Rule and the Rule of Irish Law, which was launched by a former Irish Attorney General and Taxing GAAP and IFRS. He is co-author of two other publications, Taxing Financial Transactions and Irish Tax Policy in Perspective which is due to be published shortly.
This edition of Irish Income Tax is currently available from www.bloomsburyprofessional.com and leading booksellers.
