Deloitte invests in leadership capability with appointment of eight new partners

Deloitte has announced the expansion of its leadership team with the appointment of eight new partners across the business.
David Conway and Petri Heinonen have been appointed technology consulting partners; Valarie Daunt is a partner in the Human Capital Management Consulting practice; Anya Cummins is a newly appointed partner in the Corporate Finance department; Matthew Foley has been appointed an audit partner, specialising in financial services; Ciara Regan assumes the role of partner in the firm’s Actuarial, Rewards and Analytics group; and Ann McGonagle and Sinead McHugh both become audit partners, specialising in the consumer business and technology industries.
Commenting on the appointments, Brendan Jennings, Managing Partner, Deloitte said: “We’re focussed on delivering our clients insights that inform and enable them to make confident business decisions on the future of their businesses. David is a technology consulting partner who leads the Irish Deloitte Digital practice, which provides solutions in digital strategy, customer experience, user experience, CRM, digital engineering and digital marketing. He has over seventeen years of consulting experience, and specialises in digital technology advice and delivery. His primary areas of expertise include digital channel strategy and implementation, enterprise architecture and security, large scale systems implementation, core systems integration and analytics.
David holds a B.A. Oxon in Earth Science, a Higher Diploma in Geographical Information Systems from NUI Maynooth, and a Diploma in Information Systems from Trinity College, Dublin.
Anya is a partner in the Corporate Finance department, leading the firm’s M&A advisory services offering. She has recently re-joined Deloitte having spent five years in London with a boutique corporate finance house focusing on privately-owned companies and private equity purchasers. Anya advises on transactions across a range of industries including the consumer business, retail and technology sectors among others, and supports clients on acquisitions, disposals, exit planning, management advisory and equity capital raisings.
Anya holds a first class honours degree in International Business from DCU and is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
Valarie is a partner in the Human Capital Management Consulting practice, where she leads the organisation transformation, talent and HR transformation offering. Valarie has spent over 18 years providing HR and talent management consulting and advisory services across a wide range of industries including financial services, food and beverage, retail, telecommunications, public sector and manufacturing. Valarie has previously worked as a HR Director in the financial services industry.
Valarie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from NUIG and an MBS in Organisation & Management Studies from Smurfit Business School. She is also a certified coach and member of the British Psychological Society.
Matthew is an audit partner working in the firm’s financial services industry group. He specialises in the provision of assurance and advisory services to clients in the investment management and insurance sectors. Matthew has extensive experience in audit, accounting, advisory and regulatory services, garnered from working with both Irish domiciled companies as well as large multinational financial services groups.
Matthew holds Masters in Accounting and B.A. in Accounting degrees from DCU, and is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
Petri is a technology consulting partner, focussing on the financial services sector. He has worked for over 25 years with financial services clients delivering technology change programmes. He advises clients on the role and purpose of the ICT organisation within their businesses, and on the use of technology to transform their businesses. Petri has worked with clients in many industries, including the banking, pensions, treasury, and investment management sectors. He worked with Deloitte in Finland for 18 years before joining the Irish firm in 2016.
Petri holds a B.Sc in Computer Science and M.Sc in Strategy and Finance from the Helsinki School of Economics. In addition he has studied in Stanford and INSEAD.
Ann is an audit partner working in the consumer business and technology industry group. She specialises in the provision of assurance and advisory services to clients in large corporates and public companies. Ann has wide ranging experience in risk, accounting, advisory and audit services, garnered from working with both Irish domiciled companies as well as large multinational entities.
Ann holds Masters of Accounting and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from UCD, and is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
Sinéad is an audit partner working in the consumer business and technology industry group. She has over 12 years’ experience specialising in the provision of assurance and advisory services to clients across a broad range of industries, including the consumer business, energy and resources, and food industries. Sinéad has experience in the provision of risk, accounting, advisory, and audit services, and has a focus on large corporates and listed companies.
Sinéad holds Masters of Accounting and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from NUIG, and is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
Ciara is a partner in Deloitte’s Actuarial, Rewards & Analytics practice within the financial services industry group. Ciara has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry having worked in both the domestic and international insurance sectors during that time. She specialises in the provision of actuarial, analytics and risk assurance and advisory services to clients in the domestic, cross border and international (re)insurance sectors.
Ciara is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors.
