Three new directors at Deloitte Limerick

Deloitte, the leading business advisory firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of three new directors in its regional practice. Gerard Casey becomes a director in the audit department, Karen Frawley becomes a director in the tax department and Cathal Jones becomes a director in the corporate finance department. All three will be based in the firm’s Limerick office.

Deloitte employs over 200 people in its regional practice, which has offices in Cork and Limerick.

Gerard Casey
Gerard is a director in the firm’s audit department. He has worked for Deloitte for ten years, serving a diverse portfolio of indigenous and multinational clients with responsibility for audit planning, execution and reporting.

He has extensive experience in the technology, media and telecommunications industry in addition to the exploration and mining sector. Key areas of expertise include revenue recognition accounting policies, procedures and controls, US GAAP, SEC reporting and International Financial Reporting Standards.

Gerard is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds a B.A. in Law and Accounting from University of Limerick. He is also a member of the Limerick Chamber of Commerce and the University of Limerick Alumni Association.

Karen Frawley
Karen is a tax director, responsible for the Corporate Tax service offering in the firm’s regional practice. In this role, she is involved with corporate tax planning and structuring for multinationals and indigenous Irish companies including issues associated with foreign expansion, finance planning, intellectual property tax planning, corporate group reorganisations and transfer pricing.

Karen has over 14 years’ experience in the areas of international tax, group reorganisations, due diligence and succession planning. Industry areas of focus include pharma, life sciences, technology, retail, manufacturing and renewable energy sectors.

Karen is a member of the Irish Taxation Institute and Chartered Accountants Ireland. She was one of the top three candidates in Ireland in the admitting examinations for both the Irish Taxation Institute and the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Cathal Jones
Cathal is the director responsible for the Corporate Finance Advisory service offering in the region. Cathal provides strategic advisory services to corporate, financial institution and public sector clients in such areas as acquisitions, disposals, MBOs / MBIs, capital raising, valuations, project finance and debt advisory.

Cathal has 15 years’ experience in areas such as M&A advisory, capital raising, project finance, UK AIM reporting accountancy, debt advisory, corporate recovery and due diligence assignments. He works extensively in the energy and resources industry with specific expertise in the renewables industry. In addition he has extensive experience in the consumer business, life sciences and transport industries.

Cathal is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland. He holds a B.A. in Law and Accounting from University of Limerick.
