Judging panel

Best Managed Companies applications are reviewed each year by a judging panel that decides which companies will be awarded the ‘Best Managed’ designation. The judging panel includes members from each of our program sponsors and a guest representative.

Best Managed Companies 2020 | The Judges

Harry Goddard: Harry Goddard succeeded Brendan Jennings as CEO of Deloitte on the 01st June 2019. He was previously Head of Consulting and has over 20 years experience in Professional Services and Consulting.

Frank Ryan: Frank is the current Chairman of the Board of IDA Ireland. He previously held the position as CEO of Enterprise Ireland and he chairs the Best Managed Companies judging panel.

Nikki Canavan: Nikki serves as Senior Director at Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking. She has over 25 years international banking experience, as well as broad leadership experience across all banking sectors and markets in strategy, sales, lending and markets, transaction structuring and risk. 

Siobhan McAleer: Siobhan is the Commercial Director at the Irish Management Institute. She has 20 years+ leadership experience in executive education, business transformation, international business development and marketing.

Rose Hynes: Rose is Chairperson of the Shannon Group and also Chairperson of Origin Enterprises plc. She is a non-executive director of a number of other companies in various sectors including Total Produce plc and IPL Plastics plc and is also a former Chairman of Bord Gais/Ervia and former non-executive director of Bank of Ireland, Fyffes plc and Aer Lingus. 

Feargal Mooney: Feargal is Chairman of the board of Erbium Ltd, the Carlyle backed holding company of AA Ireland, and a Non- Executive Director of Meetingsbooker, the global leader in online bookings for meeting spaces backed by Delta Partners and ACT Venture Capital. Feargal also provides consultancy services on strategy, leadership, talent management, business operations and fundraising to businesses that need to build the operational infrastructure required to scale.

Previously, Feargal served as CEO of Hostelworld Group from 2008 to 2018, having first joined as COO/CFO in 2002. After successfully growing Hostelworld from start-up through private equity ownership, Feargal led an IPO on the main markets of the London Stock Exchange and Irish Stock Exchange in 2015.

Colm O' Reilly: Colm O'Reilly is CEO of The Sunday Business Post and a director of the Business Post Media Group. He has 25 years' business experience gained in the Drinks, Hospitality, Investment Management and Media industries across Ireland, UK and USA. Colm has specialised in strategy development, business performance management, operations management and business restructuring.
