Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards 2015

Companies from all four provinces receive the award for the first time.

18 companies achieve special gold standard accolade, receiving the award for fourth consecutive year and 11 companies reach the Platinum Club, for seven consecutive years on the programme.

Over on hundred (110) leading Irish indigenous companies have been recognised for outstanding levels of business performance at the seventh annual Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards, in association with Barclays Bank Ireland, held in Dublin. The winners comprised companies receiving the award for the first time, in addition to companies that have maintained the standard of a Best Managed Company for a number of years, thereby retaining the accolade. Minster Richard Bruton T.D., congratulated the award winners in a keynote speech at the event.

Companies joining the Best Managed Company network for the first time this year come from all four corners of Ireland, and represent the best of Irish innovation and entrepreneurship across a range of industries including construction, manufacturing, ICT, hospitality and catering, among others.

The awards recognised three companies for high quality submissions in the areas of strategy, capability and commitment, which are the cornerstones of the Best Managed Company criteria. Openmind Networks was recognised for strategy; Chain Reaction Cycles for capability; and Eason for commitment respectively.  All 11 Platinum Club companies (as listed below) were selected to receive the special Irish Management Institute award.

Eighteen of the winning companies were given special recognition, the gold standard accolade, having secured the ‘Best Managed’ status for the fourth time.

Awards

There are four different categories of award winners:

  • Best Managed Companies: Companies that receive the award for the first time
  • Re-qualifiers: Best Managed Companies that apply to requalify for the next two years following receipt of the award for the first time or fourth time. Companies applying for requalification must satisfy the programme eligibility criteria and go through a requalification review process in order to ensure that the companies continue to uphold the Best Managed standard
  • Gold Standard: Best Managed Companies that receive the award for the fourth year in a row. These companies must go through all stages of the Best Managed Companies Awards Programme
  • Platinum Standard: Best Managed Companies that receive the award for a seventh year in a row. These companies must go through all stages of the Best Managed Companies Awards Programme.
