What did you study in college?

I studied BESS in Trinity College Dublin.

Why did you choose the Deloitte Graduate Programme?

I chose the Deloitte Graduate Programme as I had completed a summer internship in Deloitte and really enjoyed it. I also was drawn to the idea of achieving an additional qualification (ACAs) while gaining experience of working with large multinational clients. Finally, I was chose Deloitte because of the people who work in the firm, which is an especially important factor as you spend a lot of your time working and in class.

What did you find most challenging about the working world?

I found the hardest thing about joining the working world was getting used to working full days and having to find a suitable work life balance. Fitting everything you want to do into a day is tough!

How has Deloitte helped you build your career?

Deloitte has helped to build my career by providing excellent exam support as I work towards the Chartered Accountant qualification. It is also an internationally recognised firm that is known for its professionalism and quality so by completing the Deloitte Graduate Programme you are building a strong foundation for your career, regardless of where your future takes you.

What is the most valuable thing you have learned since you joined the workforce?

I have learned the importance of time management and being able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines successfully.

What’s one thing you wish you knew when you finished college?

Before leaving Trinity, I wish someone had told me that you won’t be expected to know everything on the first day of your new job. You go through an induction programme and service line specific training that will well equip you for the job you are about to start. On a day to day basis after that there is a great support network behind you that will help you every step of the way.
