You will join a large team of professionals working across our consumer and technology business and financial services divisions.

The Deloitte audit goes beyond testing transactions and balances to providing insights that help our clients better understand their business.
So what’s the work like?
Auditing is a complex process and the importance of auditors in the financial reporting chain has never been more important or more valued than in the current environment. As a trainee you will work on a succession of audits throughout the year both in the office and offsite at the clients’ premises, typically from one to six weeks in length. You will work with experienced teams focusing on financial statement components, reviewing client operations and controls, identifying weakness and providing recommendations.
Our computerised audit software along with our risk based audit approach helps our professionals deliver service excellence that is implicit in the Deloitte brand and that the financial community and public expect.
The audit department is split into specialist groups:
Financial services - banking, investment funds and insurance
Consumer and technology business - manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceuticals, retail, media, technology and property
Small and medium enterprise services - provide a range of services to small and medium sized enterprises to help them succeed, wherever they operate.
Learning and development
We invest heavily in ensuring your on-boarding experience provides you the knowledge and skills that you need to begin your journey with us. Our programme allows you to become familiar with our culture, values and business principles. We will outline our expectations of you and discuss your expectations of us! We know that you might be wondering what your job entails, how an audit works, what you are going to be doing and lots more questions. At the end of your induction programme all of these questions will be answered and you will be ready to start on your first assignment.
The You@Deloitte program is your start to a successful career in Audit. The program is focused on helping you to perform and will guide you through the challenges and opportunities of your first few months at Deloitte. It provides exciting opportunities to innovate, collaborate and grow. You will participate in the “The Audit Experience” where you will embark on your first audit engagement. This programme is a “real life” simulation of an audit.
You will also meet with your “Buddy” who will be able to help you settle into life in a professional office environment, introduce you to your team, answer any questions you may have and assist in ensuring your smooth transition into Deloitte life.
On completion of your two week You@Deloitte programme you will gain hands on experience on the job. You will receive continuous coaching and guidance throughout this time. To further enhance your learning you will then return to our designated Learning Academy where you will attend a week long “Professional Education and Personal Development week”. The programme includes study skills workshops, briefings, Q&A sessions with our many successful trainees, exam technique and practice workshops.
Paths to qualification
Trainees within the Audit practice complete the Chartered Accountants Ireland qualification (ACA). The firm is committed to supporting students through this course of study and subsequent admittance to the institute not only by providing the competencies through the audit work but also fully supporting this course of study through our Professional Education support programme. This provides a mixture of study leave, tutorials, mock exams and additional internal support mechanisms such as our exam hotline.
