Life at Deloitte
Assistant Manager, Risk Advisory
Neha is an Assistant Manager in Regulatory Risk. Find out more about the role, industry, and Neha's career highlights to date.
What does a typical day look like in your role?
The day usually starts with a quick scrum call with our Deloitte US-India (USI) counterparts and our team here. We plan for the day, check who has time to support activities, and proceed from there. Our aim is that everyone has a clear outline for the day. Throughout my day I am occupied with reviews, meetings, and check-ins with the client.
What attracted you to Deloitte as a career move? What development opportunities have you had since joining?
The exposure to the pharma clients was definitely one aspect. The international experience was my first priority. I wanted to learn and be around Europe, and understand first-hand what actually impacts clients. I came in as a Consultant, but I have quickly progressed to a managerial role. I have been given ample training opportunities as well as support to pursue my MBA in the University of Limerick part-time.
What advice would you give someone coming for an interview on the team, and what can new joiners expect from their first few days at Deloitte?
- Be open about your capabilities, there is no point in saying you know how to do something when you have not quite mastered it yet. Learn about the team culture through colleagues on Skype and MS Teams. Understand the client base and the kind of work you will be supporting.
- There can definitely be a bit of a culture shock, but rest assured there are ample resources and communities that are more than willing to give you a helping hand.
Ireland is a wonderful country, the people are extremely warm and Deloitte Ireland is at a stage where it is only going to expand - it's a great time to join!
What is it about your role/industry that keeps you interested?
The Life Sciences vertical, in my opinion, is infinite. There is always going to be something new, exciting and innovative to look forward to. Ultimately, you are working for patient safety and the product quality that impacts patient safety. I love that part of my job.
