In September 2012, the Talent 2020: Surveying the talent paradox from the employee perspective report of 560 employees shed light on the employee perspective on talent paradox. The survey results revealed significant shifts in the talent market over the past year, particularly when it comes to turnover intentions and highlighted the "turnover red zones."

Key findings

Our new report, "Talent 2020: Surveying the talent paradox from the employee perspective - The view from the Oil & Gas sector" details the report findings specific to the Oil & Gas sector. The report further highlights the key talent trends in the sector and their possible impact on the organizations. Some key findings:

  • Only 14% of surveyed Oil & Gas workers, versus 41% overall, report their company experienced layoffs within the past six months, and only 11%, versus 36% overall, anticipate layoffs at their company in the next six months.
  • Oil & Gas gets high marks from its employees on career mobility and international assignments, with 41% of Oil & Gas survey respondents ranking their company very good or excellent (versus 23% overall)
  • Fifty-four percent of surveyed Oil & Gas employees, versus 40% overall, say voluntary attrition has increased or increased significantly in the past 12 months in their companies
