Barry Robinson appointed Director in Deloitte’s Forensic team

Deloitte, the leading business advisory firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Robinson as a Director in its Forensic team.  Barry joins the firm’s dedicated forensic team to support clients with their increased needs in this area and in further developing Deloitte’s national forensic service offering.

Barry specialises in the area of forensic accounting and has extensive experience of commercial disputes and complex financial and fraud investigations.  He has worked on a wide variety of assignments including commercial disputes, regulatory investigations, and investigation of allegations of employee fraud across a number of different industries and sectors.

Barry brings 13 years of experience to the role, having worked with a number of professional services organisations, both in Ireland and the UK. He has worked on forensic assignments in Europe and the USA. He is an Associate Member of Chartered Accountants Ireland (ACA) and holds the Chartered Accountants Ireland Diploma in Forensic Accounting.  He also holds a BSc in Accounting with French from Queen’s University of Belfast.

Martin Reilly, Head of Corporate Finance at Deloitte, commented on the appointment: “Choosing the right team and expertise is an increasingly important priority for our clients given the often complex nature of commercial disputes which require forensic accounting expertise. This is also the case when clients require a forensic investigation into complex issues in a confidential manner. Barry’s experience further enhances a strong team, one which is well placed to work together with our clients as they look to prevent the occurrences of fraud, and indeed mitigate the effects of fraud incidents when they do occur.”

Deloitte’s Forensic Services team in Ireland is led by David Carson. Deloitte is one of the leading providers of forensic services in Ireland and has a team of dedicated professionals working in this area across its offices in Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Globally, Deloitte has over 2,400 dedicated forensic professionals. Deloitte was ranked #1 in 2013 in Global Forensics & Dispute Advisory Services, based on revenue, by Kennedy.
