Overview

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), in conjunction with the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, hosted the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Days 2012 event in Geneva on 21 - 24 February 2012.

PPP Days 2012 provided an opportunity for Government and Public Sector officials responsible for PPP to share their experiences and insights on forming PPP policy, structuring projects and financing. More than 500 participants from 75 countries attended this event at the Palais des Nations.

Michael Flynn, a Partner in Deloitte Corporate Finance who leads the PPP practice in Ireland, was invited to speak during the public sector two day session and he said of the event: ''PPP Days 2012 was an excellent event and Deloitte was delighted to be invited to participate and share our thoughts and insight in relation to new innovative funding sources for PPPs across a wide range of sectors and countries.''

He was joined at the event by representatives of Deloitte US and Deloitte Japan who spoke and moderated sessions during the private sector business forum.

Deloitte’s participation in PPP Days 2012 followed the firms involvement in the UNECE mission to advise Japan on how PPP can assist with rebuilding areas damaged by the recent disaster. Deloitte was also involved in the UNECE PPP Advisory Board and the publication of a PPP Toolkit.
