Since September 2019, Deloitte is working in partnership with the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform (DPER) and the Office of Government Procurement (OGP) to build knowledge of the opportunity that RPA presents for Public Sector Bodies (PSB’s). In the past year alone, Deloitte has worked with public sector partners to reduce administrative burden on their teams by over 14,800 working days. The work already delivered through the RPA Framework in partnership with a range of public bodies is proving how automations can deliver material efficiencies, time and cost savings in very short time - a few months, or even weeks in some cases.

In this report, we outline the benefits of this partnership approach, providing a number of success stories of PSBs demonstrating intelligent automation projects and the benefits they have delivered for their organisations, employees and citizens. We also set out the significant opportunity that exists to build on the work to date and to accelerate the development of RPA capabilities across the Irish public sector, and other opportunities that this will present.
