Planning and Development - What the new Programme for Government means for the sector 

The new Cabinet formally adopted the Programme for Government (PFG) at its inaugural meeting on 27 June. Niall Byrne, a Manager in the Deloitte Real Estate Advisory team and Chartered Town Planner, outlines below the key elements of the PFG in relation to the Planning and Development sector.

The Programme for Government (PFG) has addressed a major question mark hanging over the planning sector, indicating the Strategic Housing Development (SHD) arrangements will not be extended beyond their legislative expiry on the 31st December 2021.
