In October, the ECB published its Risk Assessment for 2018 highlighting the key risk drivers for the next year, again showing a focus on Non-Performing Loans, whilst the EBA also published its final guidance on non-performing and forborne exposures.

The BCBS focused on the implementation of Basel III reforms and encouraged all jurisdictions to commit to full, timely, and consistent implementation of Basel III with the EBA estimating that those Basel III reforms resulting in average increases above 15% in EU bank’s Tier 1 minimum required capital.
Window dressing was also a focus area for the BCBS and ECB, both voicing concerns in this area.
