UK SOX: Implications for new UK guidance for Ireland

The panel discussion on UK SOX: Implications for the new UK guidance on Ireland was held on Friday 26th February 2021. Panellist included Colm McDonnell, Head of Risk Advisory at Deloitte Ireland, Linda Neill, Director Risk Advisory, Deloitte Ireland and Michael Stallard who leads the SOX advisory business and Future of Controls team in Deloitte UK.

The UK is currently on a journey of reforming corporate governance, risk and compliance. Companies and auditors are facing a UK equivalent of SOX that will introduce more regulation in relation to the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting. Irish PLCs with a listing on the FTSE and currently subscribed to the UK Corporate Governance Code are likely to be impacted by these changes.

  • Deloitte professionals with experience in SOX control programmes gave an overview of the UK SOX landscape and the key considerations for Directors and companies arising from the introduction of UK SOX.
