In recent times, Ireland has continued to attract significant high end Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) with total employment in Ireland at international companies at a record high in January 2017, just short of 200,000. FDI in Ireland comprises of both continued and first time investment, and many of the world’s leading companies regularly demonstrate their commitment to remaining established in Ireland by continuing to invest.

Ireland’s low corporate tax regime has been a vital part of Ireland’s industrial policy and despite the changing global tax landscape, the Irish Government remains committed to the 12.5% corporate tax rate. The U.K.’s decision to leave the European Union along with a changing Global political landscape are likely to result in some economic impact in the near future.
